How To Be A Real Adult is a project that came out of my own anxiety of growing up and becoming an "adult". I question what that means, what changes when you go from child to grown up, what makes it so exciting and hard at the same time, and why there is no convenient handbook for being a "real adult". It explores the transition into adulthood and pokes fun at societies expectations through coloring, games, and stickers. This project talks about adult subjects dedicated to the child within us.
Print is a changing medium and this project imagines what the editorial experience could be. I base this project on a 1950's printed piece called "The Steam Car is Coming Back" by Roald Deigh. But instead of presenting the information in print, the reader now experiences the article using their phones, that imposes the digital medium of a steam car onto modern cars that we see on the streets. By pointing your phone at any vehicle, the reader gain access to the information about the steam car and can navigate through this new editorial experience. The dated content was interesting to work with because of the modern treatment it was given. The final concept of this project was presented and mocked into a website using HTML/CSS.
